Interactions of Coating and Wood Flooring Surface System Properties

Parquet flooring is one of the most common types flooring, surface which can be covered with various coatings. To avoid possible damage to parquet during use, it necessary test surfaces before installation according non-standard and standard protocols. The present study provides an overview interactions between properties selected waterborne coatings (solids content, hardness, resistance cracking, tensile strength) oak wood (dry film thickness, coating adhesion, scratching, impact, abrasion cold liquids). tests conducted showed that performance systems was highly dependent on formulations, as they were either one- or two-component systems. Although no major differences in liquids found, there a correlation hardness strength. harder had higher strengths lower elongations. strength better achieved adhesion properties. exhibited ductile behavior worst scratch resistance. A statistically significant relationship found impact stress improved obtained results provide potential end users valuable information quality expected flooring.
